How A Passion for Healthy Living Became a Comox Success Story

Jeanie and her family travelled from one coast to the other: originally from Newfoundland, they came to settle in the Comox Valley years ago. She and her husband Chris now live between Campbell River and Comox along with their three dogs, five cats and two horses. An obvious animal lover, Jeanie loves all things natural.

Natural medicine helped Jeanie with her own health struggles. While growing up, Jeanie was diagnosed with a condition called scoliosis. Scoliosis is a medical term for a twisted spine, a painful and debilitating disorder. Her doctor recommended surgery. Jeanie decided to investigate alternative solutions and found a way to take full responsibility for her own health. After taking up bodybuilding and learning about proper nutrition, Jeanie felt better than ever, and she wanted to share her joy and knowledge with others. Her thirst for knowledge and the ability to help others led Jeanie to receive formal training. She is the proud holder of five designations:

  • Registered Orthomolecular Holistic Practitioner
  • Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN)
  • Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner (RNCP)
  • Registered Sports Nutritionist
  • Certified Breast Health Practitioner
  • Cancer Coach

Studying nutrition and natural products in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle became a passion for Jeanie, and she decided to open up her own store. She did a lot of research, received help from her husband, and met wonderful people who helped her with her business plan along the way. Finally, she got a location in the Comox Centre Mall. Jeanie’s Vitamin Centre was founded 22 years ago, and every shelf and counter was built by her husband. The current members of the store, Lori, Dale and Lesley were all trained by Jeanie.
